East Bridgewater Police and East Bridgewater School personnel, assisted by area K9 drug detecting dogs conducted a pre-planned, coordinated search of the East Bridgewater Junior Senior High School this morning shortly after 8:30 am.
Today’s planned search was part of the cooperative working effort between the East Bridgewater Police and East Bridgewater School Department to ensure a safe and drug free learning environment for our children. This is an annual exercise done with the school’s cooperation and partnership that has been on-going for many years.
Shortly after initiating this morning’s search, the East Bridgewater Police Department notified the public via its Facebook and Twitter pages about the police presence at the school and that it was a planned, non-emergency event.
There were 18 K9 units assisting the East Bridgewater Police Department this morning, coordinated by Bridgewater Police K9 Officer Steven Kingsley through the supervision of East Bridgewater Police School Resource Officer Mark Harvey.
