The East Bridgewater Police wishes to remember Mario “Duke” Moretti on this the seventh anniversary of his death. Duke was with the East Bridgewater Police Department from 1967 and retired in 1999 after 32 years of service. Duke was an avid hunter and could make a mean clam chowder that won awards at the Chili-Chowder fest at the Commercial Club. Duke was doing what he loved, riding his full dresser Harley Davidson, when he was struck and killed on July 8th 2009. We think of our fallen friends on this day, the day after 5 Dallas police officers were killed while protecting and serving the public. To all the citizens that have called, stopped in and delivered coffee, donuts, pizza and fruit to the department today, we say Thank You.
