EAST BRIDGEWATER – What happens when a 10-year-old child is witness to a major trauma at home– a crime or overdose, a violent dispute or family member’s arrest–and then is sent back to school the next day?
All too often, nothing, says Ed Jacoubs of the Plymouth County district attorney’s office.
“You walk into school the next day and not a single adult in your life says anything,” he said. “What does that tell you? It says that it’s not important or even worse, nobody cares.”
