East Bridgewater-Over the past couple of weeks, several local East Bridgewater students had the opportunity to earn a Ride Along with Chief of Police Scott Allen. As a result of two local non-profit fundraising events, several East Bridgewater families bid for a child’s “Ride Along with the Chief”.
In early May, three local East Bridgewater youths were picked up in the morning before school by Chief Allen, along with EBPD School Resource Officer Mark Harvey. As part of the raffle award, the girls received a ride to the police station for a tour, along the way stopping at the local Dunkin Donuts for a breakfast snack. They were then dropped off at school by the chief.
Olivia McManus, Olivia Crowley and CaliSue Cook earned the Ride Along with the Chief, resulting from a raffle recently held at the East Bridgewater YMCA Annual Gala. The bid was won by East Bridgewater resident, Jill McMannus.
Last Thursday, Henry Fay, an East Bridgewater kindergarten student and his grandmother, were picked up by Chief Allen and escorted to a tour of the police station, followed by a breakfast snack and then a ride to the Central School. Henry’s Ride Along with the Chief was the result of a recent church raffle held at a fundraising event for St John’s Parish of East Bridgewater that was won by Henry’s grandmother, Patricia Fay.
