East Bridgewater-This week is a Drop-In Center session at the East Bridgewater Community Covenant Church, hosted by EB HOPE/PCO HOPE from 5 to 9 pm on Thursday, August 17th at #400 Pleasant Street, East Bridgewater.
East Bridgewater and area police, part of the Plymouth County Outreach network, have noticed an increase in volume of overdose calls for service in August, as well as between June and July. Numerous public notification alerts have been put out throughout the state and nation regarding concerns of overdoses attributed to Fentanyl and Carefentanil.
East Bridgewater Police want to remind anyone in the region that they can seek assistance for their own substance use disorder at the Drop-In Center this Thursday or get introduced to services that can help loved ones and family members of those suffering from SUDs.
The Drop-In Center has licensed clinicians on hand, along with narcan and narcan training provided by Brockton Area Multi Services Inc. Learn to Cope, the leading experts on providing family members of loved ones suffering from SUDs with support services through their network is also present. The Brockton Area Opioid Abuse Prevention Collaborative is a leading partner with EB HOPE on the Drop-In Center.
Each of the major treatment and recovery organizations for SUDs in the region are partners and represented at the Drop-In Center as well as a team of Recovery Angels on hand to provide peer-to-peer mentoring and assistance for anyone struggling with SUDs. EB HOPE volunteers are at the Drop-In Center to greet each visitor, provide support and introduce them to the experts.
The Drop-In Center is open to anyone, regardless of where they live. Recently, EB HOPE merged it’s executive board coalition with Plymouth’s Project Outreach, and is now known as PCO HOPE. Plymouth’s Drop-In Center is open the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month while the EB HOPE Drop In Center is open the first and third Thursday of each month. A third Drop In Center has opened on Saturday’s in Scituate.
