East Bridgewater-This coming Thursday, September 21st, EB HOPE is proud to host at its East Bridgewater Drop-In Center, Pembroke’s own former NHL All-Star and Silver Lake Regional High School graduate, Kevin Stevens.
Kevin was a 2-time hockey All-American at Boston College, drafted by the LA Kings in 1982, played in the 1988 Winter Olympics, was a 2-time Stanley Cup Champion, scored over 50 goals and 100 points in back to back seasons, becoming one of the top left wingers and power forwards in the NHL while playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Kevin will share at the Drop-In Center, starting at 7 pm, his journey on the ice in 1993 that led to his introduction to opioid pain medication followed by many years struggling with Substance Use Disorder.
The Drop-In Center is open to the public, regardless of where you reside, from 5 pm to 9 pm. It is open to those seeking help with substance use disorders (SUDs) of any substance, resources for family members and loved ones of those suffering SUDs, and the general public who wants to learn more about SUDs and/or who wants to help in their community.
Regular Drop-In Services will be provided, including a licensed substance use clinician on-site, Naloxone information resources, Learn to Cope for Family Support services, all other Drop-In services, information, resources and HOPE.
The EB HOPE Drop-In Center is located at #400 Pleasant Street, East Bridgewater.
