East Bridgewater– On Wednesday, March 29th from 5 to 7 pm, EB HOPE is partnering with the Brockton Area Multi Services Inc (BAMSI), South Shore Hospital and the East Bridgewater YMCA to offer a nasal Naloxone (Narcan) training at the East Bridgewater YMCA.
South Shore Hospital will again be bringing their EMS Mobile Simulation Lab, equipped with a remote controlled manikin that can exhibit the signs of an overdose victim, including breathing and body control functions. Trainees are then able to practice an overdose scenario, learning how to nasally administer Narcan. South Shore Hospital, a major partner of EB HOPE, has previously brought their mobile SIM Lab to the EB HOPE Drop-In Center on two occasions, training nearly 100 persons in Naloxone training.
Narcan reverses Opioid overdoses is responsible for saving lives on a daily basis across the country and in particular in the three Bridgewaters and Whitman, Police and Fire have reversed over 200 overdoses since January 1, 2015.
In addition to the YMCA, EB HOPE, South Shore Hospital and BAMSI, the Brockton Area Opioid Awareness Prevention Coalition team will be on hand to assist in this wonderful cross section of partners, working to save lives.
