East Bridgewater-Due to the overnight storm, including heavy winds that knocked power out throughout various sections of town, the state traffic lights on Route 18 (North Bedford Street) in East Bridgewater at Highland Street, will be out of service for at least another 24 hours. The traffic lights at this intersection will not be functioning until power is restored.
Because of safety and traffic concerns, the MA Department of Transportation has placed STOP signs on both sides of the intersection on Highland Street, alerting and directing vehicles approaching Route 18 that they must stop and give way to North and Southbound Route 18 traffic.
This intersection is located at the corner of Sullivan Tire and Kris Jons Plaza, which is heavily traveled each day. East Bridgewater Police are alerting travelers to be aware to slow their speeds and adhere to the MA DOT STOP signs at this intersection.
Bridge Street is open to traffic, but expect delays and work crews to be active on the roadway restoring power most of the day and evening hours.
Morse Ave, at the town common is now open to traffic, but debris is blocking the sidewalk along the roadway.
