East Bridgewater Police Chief Scott Allen welcomes two new officers, Cecelia Cacciatore and Joshua DeJesus, to the department after their graduation yesterday at Plymouth’s Memorial Hall.  Officers Cacciatore and DeJesus graduated from the 64th Recruit Officer Class (ROC) of the Plymouth Police Academy.  Officers Cacciatore and DeJesus completed the Massachusetts Police Training Council’s rigorous 23 week training program at the Plymouth location.

At yesterday’s 64th ROC graduation ceremony, Officers DeJesus and Cacciatore had their badges pinned by family members.  Officer DeJesus received the Academy’s “Top Gun” Award for his firearms marksmanship and navigation through the weapons course. Officer Cacciatore set numerous physical fitness academy records during the training program.

The new officers are filling existing, budget positions that were vacant due recent retirements.  Officers DeJesus and Cacciatore will now begin working patrol shifts in the department’s comprehensive Field Training Officer program.  Both officers will be shadowing FTO Officers Dennis Andre and Christopher Correia,  who are tasked with training and evaluating the new officers in the department’s policy and procedures, orientation of the officers to town, encourage self-initiated activity as well as to develop good driving habits and implement law enforcement techniques that they have now learned.  Upon completion of the department’s FTO program, Officers DeJesus and Cacciatore will be assigned to a regular patrol shift.
