East Bridgewater Police and Fire Respond to Crash Involving Car and Tractor Trailer
Car Driver Suffered Non-Life Threatening Injuries
EAST BRIDGEWATER — Police Chief Scott Allen and Fire Chief Timothy M. Harhen report that the East Bridgewater Police and Fire Departments responded to a motor vehicle crash on Plymouth Street Wednesday morning.
At approximately 11:20 a.m., police and fire personnel responded to a report of a crash in the area of 1175 Plymouth St.
Upon arrival, first responders came upon a silver Ford sedan that had collided with a tractor trailer.
The sedan sustained heavy damage to the front driver’s side, trapping the driver inside. Firefighters used a hydraulic extrication rescue tool to free the man. The 91-year-old East Bridgewater man was taken by an East Bridgewater Fire ambulance to Brockton Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured and stayed at the scene. The tractor trailer had damage to one of its wheels and rims toward the rear of the truck.
Plymouth Street was closed for about an hour while crews worked to assist the victim and investigate the crash. The road has since been reopened.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
