East Bridgewater Police Arrest and Charge Two Men, One Juvenile on Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop
EAST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Scott Allen reports that the East Bridgewater Police Department arrested and charged two men and one juvenile on drug charges Saturday afternoon following a motor vehicle stop.
CURT PINA, AGE 20, OF BRIDGEWATER was charged with:
Possession of a Class D Substance (Marijuana) with Intent to Distribute
Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws
Speeding
Obstructed License Plate
JACOB PACHECO, AGE 19, OF BRIDGEWATER was charged with:
Possession of a Class D Substance (Marijuana) with Intent to Distribute
Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws
Failure to Wear Seat Belt
A JUVENILE, was charged with:
Possession of a Class D Substance (Marijuana) with Intent to Distribute
Possession of a Class D Substance (Marijuana)
Possession of a Class C Substance (Mushrooms) with Intent to Distribute
Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws
At approximately 12:20 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, East Bridgewater Police Officer Joshua DeJesus was on patrol in the area of Plymouth Street when he came upon a black Ford sedan travelling at a high rate of speed with an obstructed number plate.
Officer DeJesus stopped the vehicle and observed the occupants of the vehicle to be attempting to hide something. Upon speaking to the driver, later identified as PINA, DeJesus could smell a strong odor of fresh marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and one of the occupants would not comply and show his hands, appearing to hide something.
During the on-scene investigation, officers searched PINA, PACHECO and a JUVENILE MALE PASSENGER in the vehicle, as well as the contents of the vehicle, and located and seized a large amount of marijuana and several items typically associated with the illicit sale of drugs, including:
Approximately 15 ounces of marijuana
Approximately 8 grams of psilocybin mushrooms
Three (3) digital scales
Plastic Packaging bags consistent with Illicit Drug Activity
Multiple cell phones
Total Cash Seized, $3738
PINA and PACHECO were arraigned Monday at Brockton District Court. The JUVENILE MALE was arraigned at juvenile court.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
