EB High School Girls Field Hockey Raises Funds to Support “Kid In Need” Program

The East Bridgewater High School Girls Field Hockey team held a fundraiser earlier this fall season to raise money for the East Bridgewater Schools-Police collaborative “Kid In Need” program.  The girls sold baked goods and t-shirts and raised over $1,000.00.

The girls utilized those funds and made bags that will be given to children in town when East Bridgewater Police Officers respond to calls that warrant “Kids in Need”.

The bags were created by the field hockey players, containing items for different age groups, including bags for kids ages 3-7, 8-12, and 13-17.  School Resource Officer Tallitha Connor and Cecelia Cacciatore have been instrumental in collaborating with the school district on various community projects, including with the field hockey team.

The field hockey girls, led by captains MacKenzie Eldredge, Marissa McCarthy and Lexi Allen, along with Coach Michelle Frew and team were featured in a Brockton Enterprise article in September.   The Kid in Need is a program started in February 2017 by the East Bridgewater Police in partnership with the School District, which provides extra support to children who witness crimes, or experience other traumatic events.
