Statement from East Bridgewater Police Chief Paul O’Brien Regarding Planned Protest in Town This Evening

EAST BRIDGEWATER — The following is a statement from East Bridgewater Police Chief Paul O’Brien:

“The Town of East Bridgewater has been made aware of a planned protest in the Town this evening. The East Bridgewater Police Department is aware of the event, and will be fully staffed and operational while it is happening. We remain committed to ensuring the safety of all of our residents, as well as those who enter our town.

“This is not an event that has been planned or sponsored by the Town of East Bridgewater. However, we respect the rights of free speech and assembly granted to each and every citizen of this country.

“The East Bridgewater Police Department has a responsibility to provide for public safety. The Town of East Bridgewater and the East Bridgewater Police Department are taking every precaution necessary to ensure this event is as safe as possible for all those involved.”
