East Bridgewater-This morning, three East Bridgewater Central School students had a “Ride With the Chief”, won as an auction prize recently at the East Bridgewater YMCA’s Annual Gala. Police Chief Scott Allen has continued the traditional YMCA Gala auction prize, won this year by the Chapman Family of East Bridgewater.
This morning, Chief Allen and East Bridgewater Police Officer Cecelia Cacciatore greeted the Chapman’s and their 2nd grade son, Ben Chapman, along with two of his friends, Liam Devine and Cam Farqueson. The Ride Along began just before 8:00 this morning with Officer Cacciatore and Chief Allen arriving in marked cruisers at the Chapman residence.
After sitting in the cruisers and learning how the lights and siren work, Chief Allen drove the three boys to Dunkin Donuts for chocolate milk and donuts, followed by a trip to the police station for a quick tour. At the station the boys met some of the officers, were shown the department offices, dispatcher center, with a visit to the cellblock and then a walk-through of the region’s mobile command vehicle.
The morning ended with the boys being dropped off by Chief Allen at the Central School, with some EBPD mementoes for their school bags.
