East Bridgewater-Tomorrow, Saturday, September 10th looks to be a one of a kind, special day in and around the East Bridgewater town common all day.
Starting at 10 am to 2 pm on the common, the East Bridgewater Business Association is hosting their annual Business Expo and Family Fun Day. EBBA Expo Link
Then, starting at 1:30 pm in front of the East Bridgewater Police Station by the Town Hall entrance, the EB Kiwanis 9/11 Memorial ceremony will commence. The memorial, located on the grass area between the police station and town hall driveways will be named in honor of former East Bridgewater resident and United States Secret Service Master Special Officer Craig Miller. Officer Miller was killed while assisting in the evacuation of one of the towers on September 11th, 2001.
There will be a full complement of dignitaries, law enforcement officers, town officials, residents, including the Miller Family on hand to dedicate the memorial in honor of Craig. The guests include Congressman Stephen Lynch, our area State Senator and State Representatives, as well as the Boston Office of the US Secret Service. There will be a contingent of motorcycle police officers present as well. Following the 9/11 Memorial dedication there will be a benefit concert at the Union Congregational Church.
The days’ events continue with EB HOPE’s Celebrate Recovery Concert and Family Fun on the town common from 4 pm to 10 pm. EB HOPE’s common event will include a barbecue, family friendly events, raffles and great music throughout the afternoon and into the evening.

The East Bridgewater Police will have a full complement of officers staged throughout the town common, town hall area throughout the day. The common will be detoured around the section of Plymouth Street directly in front of the high school baseball field/town hall lot. Parking will be available to the public in the parking area next to the right field fence area of the ball field, during the day in St John’s Church, and the overflow event parking will be located in the rear of the Central School and High School parking lots (accessible via Central School or the cut through between Central School and Police Station lot. The Police Department asks all vehicular traffic to expect delays and be patient as there will be a heavy volume of pedestrian foot traffic throughout the day and evening.
