Acting Chief Michael Jenkins reports that the East Bridgewater Police Department charged a man with trafficking fentanyl on Thursday.
ISIAH HATTEN-ALVES, AGE 25, of BROCKTON, was arrested and charged with:
- Misleading a Police Officer
- Trafficking Fentanyl in More Than 10 Grams
On Thursday, June 15, East Bridgewater Police received information about a possible drug transaction expected to occur later that afternoon at a residence on Elm Street. Based on that information detectives from the local, multi-jurisdictional WEB Task Force responded to conduct surveillance near the residence.
At 2:18 p.m. detectives witnessed a gray Dodge Durango pull into a driveway near the Elm Street residence. Police observed a man approach the passenger side door of the Dodge Durango. Based on the information police had received earlier in the day, they had probable cause to believe the occupant(s) of the vehicle were in possession of drugs.
Officers activated their cruisers’ blue lights and approached the vehicle while giving commands to the operator, later identified as HATTEN-ALVES, to exit the vehicle. Police placed HATTEN-ALVES under arrest at the scene. Detectives were assisted at the scene by East Bridgewater Officer Joshua DeJesus and his K-9 partner Thor, as well as a K-9 team from the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office. Through the course of their subsequent investigation, officers located and seized 10.8 grams of fentanyl.
HATTEN-ALVES was arraigned in Brockton District Court on Friday.
These are allegations. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
