East Bridgewater Police Department Recognizes SRO Appreciation Day

Feb. 15 is National School Resource Officer Day, and in East Bridgewater, that recognition includes a familiar four-legged partner.

School Resource Officer Tallitha Connor began her career in 2001 as a dispatcher and Permanent Intermittent Officer. A Class of 1996 graduate of East Bridgewater High School, Officer Connor earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Curry College in 2000. In 2018, she was appointed as the department’s School Resource Officer and has been a steady presence in the district ever since.

In 2023, the East Bridgewater Police Department received a grant from the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office to purchase a Police Comfort Dog. On April 3, 2023, K-9 Morgan, a 7-month-old Yellow Labrador Retriever, went home with Officer Connor. After completing training together, Morgan officially joined the department on May 5, 2023.

Morgan now accompanies Officer Connor to schools and community events as part of the Plymouth County Comfort Dog Team, supporting students and assisting during community and crisis response situations.

Thank you to Officer Connor and K-9 Morgan for their continued commitment to the students and families of East Bridgewater!
